Pale blue slip Pratt Ware pitcher with sprigged decoration c. 1810
A very well decorated bulbous pitcher with vertical sprigs of grape vines and a plant with green leaves and blue flowers (?) with a molded and decorated spout, blue bands and a molded stepped base. It is approx. 4 inches tall and 6 ½ inches from the spout to the end of the molded handle. A blue ground mug with similar grape vine is illustrated in John and Griselda Lewis Pratt Ware 2006 edition page 211.
Condition; no chips cracks hairlines or repairs. There is some staining in the bottom of the inside, on the base and a tiny section on the front at the junction of the white base and the plant that are directly under the spout. A tiny spot of wear to the blue enamel is at the tip of the spout.
An unusual ground with applied decoration.
