Jar of globular form with a short cylindrical lipped neck and two horizontal lugs on the shoulder. The body is divided into five panels by vertical lines of applied studs, alternate panels being decorated in underglaze cobalt - blue with a chrysanthemum spray and alternate with a lingzhi fungus motive. Low fired porcelain body ( semi-porcelain ) covered with a transparent glaze stopping short of the foot. Flat base unglazed. H : 8 cm. Jingdezhen or Fujian. Yuan Dynasty, fourteenth century. Condition : 1 repaired chip visible on the enlargements. ( John S.
