This rare Bird-feeder is excellent because of its perfect potted shape, and because of the superb surface of its glaze. In Indonesia this best of the best of Celadon glaze surface is called " Glazir- Sutera " ( Silk - glaze ) or " Glazir Kulit Bawang " ( Onion-skin-glaze )
Concerning the clay ( paste ) of this piece it is to mention that there are so many different clays within the Longquan kiln complex and so many different clay colors.
The extra fine clay of this piece with its orange burning shows the "textbook" clay of the best kind of Longquan ware.
Also concerning this piece it is legitim to mention that one has to handle hundreds of ordinary- quality pieces resp. medium quality pieces before you find a piece in a quality like this.
Also this piece would be a highlight for any Celadon-collection.
