19th century Indian bronze votive sculpture of dancing Krishna playing a flute, cast in the Indian state of Karnataka. He is holding the attributes of Vishnu in his 2 rear arms. This avatar of Vishnu playing flute for gopis is known as Krishna Venugopala (as always in this image, flute was cast separately, and is missing). Relatively rare version of the icon - usually he is shown with just 2 arms. Excellent casting and detailing, beautiful patina, wonderful devotional wear, extremely pleasant feel of age to the sculpture. Height 3 7/16 inches.
