Menuki is a kind of metal fitting of the Japanese sword, which was initially put into the hole of the handle. The meaning of menuki varies depending on the design, but they often symbolize strength, power, and courage. Some menuki also have more specific meanings, such as those that depict animals like tigers or dragons...

A kozuka is a handle of a by-knife that is part of a sword mounting. It is kept in a slot on the reverse of a katana scabbard, often with a matching kōgai (hairdressing tool). Kozuka was used as a craft knife rather than a weapon. This kozuka shows two topless figures and a octopus. It made of bronze and copper-gold alloy (shakudo). Size: 3.75 inches (9.5cm)

The set is consisted of twelve 950 silver place card holders made by K. Uyeda. K. Uyeda shop (Uyeda Shoten, 植田商店) was founded in 1884 by Uyeda Kichigoro (植田吉五郎) and is one of the oldest established Japanese silversmiths that is still in business today. The set comes with its original box. Size: Approximately 1 inch (25mm) tall.

Japanese Edo period wood block print. Print on paper, hanging scroll. Two artist’s seals, one censor’s seal. Print is in good condition, except for some tears and wears on the original mounting of the scroll. AS IS antique condition.

"Silver" hallmarks on the bottom of the saucers. Cups have gold-plating interiors. Probably Meiji Period. Size: Saucer: 8.5 cm diam. Cup: 5.2 cm diam. Condition: Very good. Some oxidized wear.

19C Meiji period Japanese Woven Bronze Plaque Tray Gold and Silver Inlay The mixed-metal plaque or tray is designed on the interior with a bronze panel carved and applied with five people, variously finished in gilt and silver. The sides and rim are hand woven metals simulating woven bamboo. Size: 25.8 cm long, 23 cm wide, 4.7 cm deep. Condition: Good. A scratch on the back.

Japanese Gold Lacquer Writing Box Suzuribako The box is traditionally made of lacquered wood and is used to hold an inkstone and a water-dropper. Square with round corners, finely decorated in gold hiramaki-e, takamaki-e and kirikane with a landscape scene of trees, houses, hills and clouds; fitted with a slate inkstone and a removable water dropper. Size: 23.6 cm long, 20.4 cm wide, 4.3 cm deep. Condition: cracks on the bottom edge.

19C Meiji period Japanese Cloisonné Enamel Vase The long necked form spreading to a flat oval body, decorated with patterns of chrysanthemum, foliage and stem; the reverse with three butterflies. Size: 14.5 tall, 9 cm wide. Condition: Excellent.
