This elegant vase was made by studio glass artist Don Gonzalez. It exemplifies his masterful expertise in form and subtle blending of color, with the intrinsic optical qualities of the glass as a major aesthetic concern. It stands 5 1/2" tall 4 1/2" w and 3" deep. The bottom is polished and it is signed "Gonzalez". Don Gonzalez has been blowing glass since the early 1970s, starting at the Fine Arts Department at Carnegie Mellon, continuing at the Sausalito Art Center, then maintaining his own studio in Stockton, NJ, for over 40 years. His work is carried in numerous museums across the country as well as in many private collections. Don has been awarded 4 Fellowship Awards from the NJ State Council on the Arts as well as a Fellowship from the Creative Glass Center of America. He served on the Board of the NJ State Council on the Arts and taught glassblowing at Bucks County College for 17 years. See his complete line of work at his website: Dongonzalezglass.com
