An unusual Japanese porcelain cat from Kutani that is coiled to its' right side. The workmanship on this cat is beautiful with great detail and an unusual collar with gold bells. The bottom of the foot is shown on the right side, and toenails are shown on the left side. The cat is of medium size measuring just 5 1/2" long, and dates to the early 20th Century. A large heavy okimono of a striding elephant. The bronze elephant has a finely chased hide and it's original ivory tusks. The elephant measures about 19" long x 19" high, and weighs about 23.8 pounds. There is a maker's mark cut out on the belly of the beast which reads "Watanambe Made", and the patina overall is even and perfect. The elephant was made during the Meiji period, ie: late 19th Century, and the condition is perfect. The asking price includes shipping within the USA.

A Japanese bronze study of a prowling, growling, tiger with an open mouth, glass eyes and etched strips. There is a cast rectangular reserve on the tigers belly which says Seiya Sake(Sei ya made), which would indicate that the statue was made in the Genryusai Seiya Workshop. A large heavy pigeon blood red cloisonne vase with embossed foil and colorful flower decoration. The vase measures about 12" tall x 9 1/2" in diameter, and weighs about 7 1/4 pounds. This large stoneware Shigaraki Bottle has a cream glaze, with green stripes that flow down from the neck and end just short of the unglazed stoneware base. The bottle measures about 16" high x 10" in diameter and weighs 11.7 lbs. The condition is excellent. There are two small chips on the base that occurred during the making of the bottle. In two places the glaze ran just a little too far and the bottle had to be chipped away to remove it from the kiln. The bottle dates to the Meiji period....
