New England Federal Games Table, Mahogany with turret corners and decorated with carving and punchwork in the style of Samuel McIntire, probably Salem, circa 1820. Initials on the underside (see photos)appear to be those of Elisha Sanderson who was a superb and noted craftsman in Salem, Massachusetts and who worked frequently with Samuel McIntire, is the likely maker of this table. The punch work and carving could be that of Samuel McIntire. Sanderson completed his apprenticeship in 1779 and set up a partnership with Josiah Austin. Furniture made by Sanderson is in the collection of The New England Historic Genealogical Society. Height 30", Width 34-1/2", Depth 18".
