Featuring a finely executed Japanese Golden Age 6 1/8" tall cloisonne enamel melon ribbed vase with 6 panels. Each detailed panel is filled with thousands of tiny silver wire cloisons, comprising of the following panels: 5 sparrows flying amongst bamboo over various flowers on a blue-gray background; iris, various other flowers and water plants by a meandering stream on lavender-gray ground; wisteria hanging over various flowers on blue gray ground; bush clover and various flowers on lavender-gray ground; prunus, woven baskets with flowers, a stream with 2 mandarin ducks, blue gray ground; and, lastly, dafodiles and mums on lavender ground. The panels, neck and foot are all decorated with fine stylized mums and geometric designs. Signed on base with rare signature, Ota Kichisaburo. Near mint condition, but with a small damage near base. Displays well and is not at all noticeable. All original condition. Nothing has been sprayed or tampered with. Dates circa 1890 when the best pieces were being made in Japan. Very nice shape with the melon ribbed indentations.
