Featuring a fine quality antique Japanese musen jippo, or wireless, cloisonne vase with white egrets. Subtle shading which shades from lighter blue to darker around the 9 snowy white egrets in various poses, all different. Their beaks and eyes contain wires.The birds have individual expressions/personalities. This wireless technique was one of the many creative and unique innovations that the Japanese introduced into their cloisonne making during the Meiji era. Dates circa 1900. Dimensions: 3.25" high x 3" wide. Excellent condition. No chips, cracks, damages, restorations. Some corrosion on base mount which may be cleaned. Attributed to Gonda.
