Featuring a rare and exquisite Japanese Satsuma demitasse cup and saucer. All hand painted by one of Kinkozan's best artists in the finest workmanship. The scenes on both the saucer and the cup depict a charming Japanese country home and smaller buildings, mountains, lake, boats with fishermen, and beautiful trees and foliage. Much gold highlighting and border. Cup measures almost 2" high, opening 2", with handle, 3". Saucer measures 4.5" in diameter. Both pieces signed with the impressed Kinkozan mark and hand painted gold signature. This set does not have a crackled glaze as most Satsuma does, making it rare. This type of glaze(not crackled) is found on some of the finest pieces by Kinkozan. Dates circa 1900. Excellent condition. No damages, chips, cracks or restoration. No wear to gilding.
