Featuring a lovely anitque Victorian hand carved sardonyx stone profile cameo of a beautiful woman, late 19th century, set in a solid 10K gold(not stamped but tested)setting with twisted rope frame. Near mint condition. Line on left shoulder and brownish spots are either a vein in the stone or some of the sardonyx color. There is a minute flake on bottom rim. These slight imperfections are only seen with a 10 power magnification loop and do not in any way effect the overall fine quality and beauty of this piece. Safety catch needs to be tightened. The pin(silver in color) itself has not been tested and probably silver and original. The cameo was carved in Europe, probably Germany or Italy, and the setting American. Basically in excellent condition. Besides being worn as a brooch, would make a beautiful ring or pendant if you care to have it reset or converted with this setting. Detail on woman quite beautiful with earrings and double strand of beads. She is wearing some type of scarf or head dress on back part of her head. The sardonyx is a wonderful soft rich shade of glowing pale peachy brown. Cameo measures 1/2" wide x 11/16" long and with setting, 11/16" wide x 7/8" long. Weight 3.8 grams. Return privilege providing item returned within 3 days of having received it and in sent condition with original wrapping material. Postage/insurance extra. New York buyer pays their local county sales tax on item and shipping charges unless valid NY sales tax number and resale form provided.
