Featuring an artistic, unique and well designed papreweight or figurine in the form of a hand blown head of a duck. The pontil on the underside is ground off straight across. I am not sure where it might have been made, but it came out of a wonderful local estate with top quality pieces. The owners were from England and France originally and most of their treasures were from Europe. They attended auctions in London, where they lived, during the first quarter of the 20th century. Latter the husband went to work for Kodak in Japan, and eventually came to live in Rochester New York, the home of Kodak. The pansy Baccarat paperweight on my store is also from their estate. The duck figurine/paperweight could be Venetian, English, French or American, but my gut feeling is that it is English. The transparent clear glass has a slight green tint to it. In excellent condition with no damages, chips or restorations whatsoever. I believe it dates to the late 19th- early 20th century. The blown glass paper weight weighs about 1 pound and measures 6" long from tip of bill to opposite end of base and about 3" high. The diameter of the base at the widest point is about 2 3/4". Return privilege providing item returned in sent condition within 3 days of having received it and in sent condition. Postage/insurance extra. Sales tax collected if sold in New York state unless valid tax number and resale certificate provided.
