A beautifully decorated Qing dynasty famille rose plate with 5 different brightly coloured butterflies alternating with bamboo leave, melon plant, chrysanthemum flower, morning glory flower and cherry flower. The base of the plate bears the six-character reign mark of Guangxu (1875-1908) and of the late Qing Dynasty period.

There is a minor firing fault at the top right hand corner where the reign mark is. The colour of the left wing of the blue butterfly is not fully glazed (picture 4). There are no sign of any hairline cracks, rim or glaze fritting or any sign of damage. The plate is in good condition.

The measurement of the Butterfly plate : Diameter is 18.5cm and the Height 3.7cm.
