This is a square and heavily potted export plate, circa 18th century. On the cavetto of the plate, it has a band of flora design with roulette diapers and ruyi head all around. On the inner of base plate, it has a scene of a river with pavilion and houses surrounded with weeping willows and pine trees. Near the front of the pavilion, two people were seen engaged in a discussion and to the left of the pavilion; it appears like a lady is crossing the bridge. At the top left hand corner, there is a Chinese character etching of “kao”, probably the owner of the plate. It could suggest that the square plate was made for local owner rather than for export. On the outside of the plate, the same band of flora design with roulette diaper and ruyi head is decorated all around the top.
There is no hairline crack, any repair or restoration. Minor firing faults with a small firing fault as shown in picture 4, and pin holes. There are small rounded spurs marks around the outside of the plate (picture 5). Overall, the export plate is in good condition.
The measurement of the Qing dynasty export plate : 20.3cm x 20.3 cm and the Height 4.3cm.
