Charming Chinese small traditional child garment from the 1930's ...Expensive (from a wealthy family) deep blue silk damask fabric, with hand embroidered decorative central medallion on the front. The top is trimmed out with wonderful detailed pink, white, and tan trim, I think this trim was actually manufactured in France and imported to China during the 30's. There are cord Monkey fist and loop closures.
Really good condition, 2 very light stains on the trim fabric just under the chin seen ...

Barely used, this baby head cover was once attached to the upper part of a baby carrier so that it could be raised around the baby's head to protect it from the hot sun during a festival.
Hand batiked with hand embroidered details, the border is decorated with rows of the tiniest hand stitching.

This small silk jacket was made and worn by the child of a wealthy traditional Han Chinese family. The dark blue silk fabric is embroidered on the front and back with a floral arrangement. There are additional decorative elements of tassels and border trim. The jacket spans 15 inches across the chest.
The jacket is in very good condition with only a slightly visible stain on the front embroidery, which would be expected of a childs jacket of this age.

Clearly they were well worn, which is part of the reason that peasant shoes are rare...

This soft pale pink colored antique Chinese silk skirt is from the late 1800's. The traditional floral embroidery is mainly uses satin stitch technique with the large flower in the center of the front and rear panels use Peking knots.

This antique Japanese small drawstring fisherman's bag is woven from hand rolled cording using indigenous natural plant fibers. It would be used for carrying home the catch at the end of day.
The bag shows some areas of staining and one small area near the bottom where a few fiber cords have split. these condition areas are to be expected of a folk art item of this age and use. ,,,,,
the bag is roughly 10 x 12 inches and has a generous amount of cording for adjustable straps.
