This exceptional and fine old oil painting on canvas is of the Grand Canal with the focal area of a gondolier in the center with finely painted ripples in the foreground, and a blue sky with white clouds with black birds in flight, on the left is an arched walkway lined with boats, while on the right side are the large stately buildings with boats. This canvas has been relined. Condition: some age cracks in the paint. The German artist is known for also signing his work with one of seven various names, and Carnier Henri is one of them. This marvelous impressionist oil painting on canvas is of a lakeside setting with tall grasses and large tree with a mother and child in the foreground, seen nearby is a boat that is moored. His use of subtle hues seen throughout the grasses and the masterfully painted tree with just one small red accent seen in the woman’s clothing. He was a leading and prolific American Impressionist artist, and he was influenced by the impressionist artists in France. He even changed his name from Andres Gittelson to a French name. This magnificent dark-purple glass bowl is heavy (weighs 5 lbs., 2.26796 Kilogram) when held in the light the glass turns a beautiful lighter plum color, it has a few very minor superficial scratches on the inside, there are no chips round the rim, while on the carved foot there is one chip that is 3/8”. This wonderful rosewood cosmetic box has well carved large dragons, with finely carved detail as seen in the scales and their heads, along each of the two sides are the bodies of the dragons and they wrap around to the front where each of the dragon head is facing each other, and on the reverse side is a large bat, the symbol of “Happiness”, the top panel is with a carved dragon with rectangular plates metal plates and four small circular insets. The top opens up with a standing mirror, and the front lower section open up to drawers, they are 8 drawers. Condition: the one side handles is missing, and the front metal plate is pin. This wonderful frame watercolor on paper is displaying fall colors with the leaves of the trees and the figures are dressed in coats and hats are on the sidewalk, large business logos on the sides of building, the use of color is masterful.

The Chinese finely carved rectangular box with a raised top panel with a landscape with a large tree and mountains, a Buddhist figure seated under the tree with an attendant standing nearby, repeating fret pattern surrounding the panels. The sides are carved with four rows of repeating Buddhist Swastikas. Condition: the top lid has two small chips, and the box has one little larger chip, the rim of the box has numerous chips.

The small rectangular box is carved with a scrolled and floral motif on the lid surrounding an inset carving of a bone female goddess. The sides are with alternating linear squares. The interior and base are a black lacquer. Condition: signs of wear and three bottom corners with small chips. The inset carving is bone and indicates the porous grain of bone and rough surface, the color is more yellow and is not ivory.

This finely carved red lacquer over metal box with a low round body with a scalloped lid with a short round finial of a flower with overlapping petals and surrounding it is four panels each with a leaf or tree motif surrounded with scrolled detail, body has intricately detailed scenes of figures in a landscape setting with mountains and large pine tree and another leafy tree along with tall Taihu rocks sculptures, and pagoda buildings. These unusual black silk lotus shoes have detachable heels that attached with one or two stitches and can easily be removed or re-stitched. These shoes are decorated with leaf and floral appliqué detail with a light blue and rose border. The round heels are stitched with a repeating black reverse swastika design. This pair of lavender lotus slippers with a raised embroidered bamboo motif, so finely stitched that it is hard to see without magnification, in black with a turquoise woven border with an alternating geometric design and organic motif.
