Absolutely beautiful cabinet attributed to Gabriel Viardot, a French cabinet maker that specialized in making furniture in the oriental style. It stands 5'4" tall, the top part having a cabinet with beveled glass on 3 sides, with 2 shelves. The other half of the top is open, with 1 shelf. There is a large carved dragon going across the top, measuring 13 1/2" long and 4 1/2" tall. The rest of the top part is decorated with an applied oriental figure and a bronze crane and a bronze head. The bottom half has a cabinet with 1 door, decorated with a raised design of a bird on the left, and an open shelf on the right. Below that is 1 long shelf with bronze decoration on the knees. The whole piece measures 5'4" tall x 24" wide x 14" deep. It is very good condition for its age, which is late 1800s.
