This gorgeous unmarked Poupee is circa 1870. She has a swivel neck, and she retains her fancy original wig. She is wearing layers of wonderful all-antique/original clothing, hat, and shoes. Her original French kid body is in very good condition. Because of a faint hairline, you can add her to your collection at a great price. Here are the details:
Head: She is unmarked, and made in the Barrois manner. She has a swivel neck which is attached to a kid-lined shoulderplate with a domed wooden neck button. She is very pale with the most delicate narrow eyebrows, her lips are pale coral with dark accents, and she has cobalt spiraled eyes. Her ears are not pierced. She retains her fancy original mohair wig and cork pate. Examination: I owned this doll for quite some time before I discovered a faint hairline on her forehead.
Body: Her original French kid body is in very good aged condition with no patching, no repairs, and no leaking. She has individually stitched fingers and toes, and double-stitched seams.
Clothes: She is wearing layers of lovely antique/original clothing. Her blue wool dress is three pieces. The dress has a fitted bodice and a full skirt with vertical pleats along the hem. There is also a matching separate overskirt and a sleeveless jacket. Underneath she wears a four piece matching underwear set. The set includes a chemise, a camisole, a half-slip, and pantaloons. They are made of the same fabric and three of the pieces have matching eyelet trim. The same eyelet trim edges the neckline of her dress, so I am certain they have always been together. She has long blue wool stockings and her French shoes are pinkish-cream silk. Her blue velvet bonnet is trimmed in pinkish-cream silk ribbon. The dress has some tiny moth holes otherwise everything is in excellent aged condition. Everything fits her perfectly.
