This is a lovely German bisque shoulderhead with an open/closed mouth and painted teeth. She has perfect bisque, her slender lady-type kid body, and she is fully dressed in charming all-antique clothes and shoes. Here are the details:
Head: Her bisque shoulderhead is perfect with no cracks, chips, or hairlines. She has brown stationary eyes and her painting is neat and perfect. She is marked 4 at the rear rim, and low on the rear shoulderplate she is marked in script "Made in Germany" in the Kestner style. She wears a blond mohair wig with bangs and long curls. Signs of Wear: Very light rubbing made more noticeable by my camera flash. Factory imperfections: There is just one teeny speckle – very nice!
Body: Her antique leather body has cloth lower legs and bisque arms. Her body is quite long, slender, and lady-like. There is a patch behind one knee, and no other repairs. There is the slightest chip to the underside of one finger, which cannot be seen on display. It is a pretty good body for the age.
Clothes: I just love her layers of all-antique clothing, and some of it could be original. She wears a black wool cape with red plaid edging, collar, and large hood. Next she wears a red wool jumper with tan feather stitching. (The red silk lining to the bodice is quite shredded.) Underneath, she wears a long-sleeved cotton blouse that closes in back with four buttons. Finally she wears a flannel half-slip, eyelet bloomers, and oilcloth tie shoes.
