This laughing 5636 character boy is by Gebruder Heubach. He has excellent perfect bisque and a composition and wood body. He is wearing an old hand-stitched suit with short pants and nice old shoes and stockings. He is one of Heubach’s most endearing characters. Layaway is always an option, but please contact me first to discuss terms. Here are the details:
Head: His bisque head is perfect with no cracks, chips or hairlines. He has brown sleep eyes and an open/closed laughing mouth with two big painted bottom teeth. He retains his original blonde mohair toddler wig, and has the typical Heubach pink bisque. He has many markings: at the rim in tiny letters – 5636; he is incised with his size number 7 and also stamped in green 07; He carries the Heubach sunburst with a tiny DEP, and finally he is stamped in green, Made in Germany within a circle. Examination: all I can find to report is a very slight rub which is truly insignificant – this is an excellent bisque head.
Body: He has a composition body and wooden arms. The hands appear to have been re-varnished. The remainder appears to be original finish.
Clothes: He is wearing a blue wool two-piece toddler suit with short pants. It is entirely hand-stitched. He also wears nice old stockings and brown tie shoes with pompoms, marked 5. Everything is in very good aged condition.
