This interesting German doll is from Grebruder Heubach, mold #10633. She has a perfect bisque shoulderhead on a sturdy pin-hinged leather body. She is fully dressed, wearing a nice four-piece sailor costume, slip, pantaloons, stockings and boots. Layaway is an option, but please contact me before purchase to discuss terms. Here are the details:
Head: Her bisque shoulderhead is perfect with no hairlines, chips or damage. She has blue sleep eyes, an open mouth with four upper teeth, and the remains of her original hair lashes. In one of her photos it looks like there is a brown mark on one eye, but it is just her lashes. She wears a pale blond curly mohair wig. She is marked at the rim 10633. On the back of her head, is her size number (8), and on the rear shoulder plate, she is marked Gebr. Heubach / Germany. At the very edge of the back shoulderplate, there is another mark, which is obscured by her body – it is likely the square Heubach symbol. Examination: an occasional speckle, some teensy rubs and an even tinier wig pull – these are just minor but you might be able to find them in her close-ups.
Body: She has a very nice sturdy leather body with pin-hinged hip, knee and elbow joints. Her upper arms are kid-over wood and fit into a wooden socket under the shoulderplate. Her lower arms and legs are composition. There was a sticker on her torso, but it is nearly gone now. The body is sturdy and sound.
Clothes: She wears a really nice four piece red sailor costume of jacket, sleeveless blouse, skirt and beret. Underneath, she wears simple cotton slip and pantaloons. Finally, she has blue and brown leather lace-up boots and cream stockings.
