Original Japanese woodblock print by Takumi Itow (b. 1946), titled Kujira Funcho no Zu, numbered 9/10, and dated 1985. The image measures 17 3/8 by 10 1/4 inches, plus margins. Although Itow is known for his vivid imagery of Matsuri Festivals celebrated throughout Japan, he also produced a series of prints featuring whales in the mid-1980s. His works are self-carved and self-printed, in accordance with traditional sosaku hanga principles.
