A fine silk valance maybe made for a Chinese wedding. Richly embroidered in Peking knot, the outlines in couched gold wrapped thread. The red silk satin with Buddhist lions and a pair of phoenixes among peonies, the purple section with the gods "Fu Lu Shou" among auspicious symbols. Later lining and borders maybe not original. Condition: few tiny holes and some loose or missing threads, partially stained. Dimension: 27.8 cm high x 179 cm long.
