A small cylindrical container made of brass with a domed cover with close fitting. With engraved decoration in horizontal bands, the widest with four medallions each containing a figure at leisure. Its function is not obvious, maybe an ink pot (davat) or a container for tobacco or spices. From an old Swiss collection. Condition: good, few tiny dents. Dimension: 7.0 cm high, diameter: 2.9 cm, weight: 56 g.

An Iranian mirror with intricately carved wooden frame reminiscent of Persian rug design, covered with clear lacquer. Condition: pinnacle with losses, the mirror glass with some imperfections and lost corner. Dimension: total: 35.2 cm long x 16.7 wide x 2.3 cm deep.

A small carved wooden stele from Nepal of a Buddhist or more likely Hindu deity, maybe Indra. Bejeweled god with a fan-shaped crown, seated on a lotus base in lalita-sana under a mandorla. Traces of vermilion. Condition: see photos, wear, and small losses. Dimension: total height: c. 17.3 cm, c. 10.3 cm wide, c. 5 cm deep.

Two Tibetan stem platters for ritual offerings, made from hardwood with metal sheet. The center decorated with a wheel, one of the eight Buddhist Symbols. Torma are cone shaped ritual food offerings sculpted in a variety of shapes and sizes, mostly made of flour and butter. Condition: traces of usage, one piece with an old repair (was broken in two). Dimension: diameter: c. 19 cm, height: 6 cm and 7.3 cm, weight: 1200 g.

A silk brocade in gold thread with boteh in lozenge shaped lattice. From Georges Redard's study collection (please visit http://www.iranicaonline.org/articles/redard-georges), mainly comprising Persian textiles. Condition: good, little thin areas, few little stains. Please look at photos carefully, being part of condition report. Dimension: c. 38.8 cm x 23.6 cm.

Light green, figured silk ground, embroidered with butterflies among peonies in "sanlan". Paper Label. Condition fine. Dimension: c. 123 cm long x 8cm wide (without seams).

A pair antique lobed brass vases decorated with interlacing patterns, tendrils and Islamic calligraphy, inlaid in silver and copper. Condition: traces of usage. Dimension: c. 29.1 cm high.

A small pouch made of different Persian silk brocades "zar-baft" and egded with gold braids. Silk lining. Women's pouches in Qajar Persia were used for different purposes as storing kohl, veil, prayer stone, comb, quran etc. Please visit www.qajarwomen.org. Condition: traces of usage, slightly stained. A rare writing box made of papier-maché with polychrome and gold decoration under a lacquer varnish showing different Hindu gods as Hanuman, Krishna etc. Condition: traces of usage, wear, lacquer and further small losses, some cracking. Dimension: c. 28.5 x 9.5 x 7.7 cm.

A Kashmir papier-mache vase with polychrome and gold lacquer decoration in the Mughal style. Showing couple of birds on a mille-fleurs ground or a golden feather pattern, framed by a mihrab border. The sides with two small handles in the shape of tiger heads. Condition: some chips and losses to the lacquer. Dimension: c. 22.8 cm high.

A rectangular playing card of the "as nas" game, made of papier-mache and hand-painted in ink, watercolor and gold under lacquered varnish. With clumsy depiction of a lady with two children within an oval frame embellished with foil. Description of the game by the Brooklyn Museum: "The full set of cards for the game of âs nâs, a gambling game similar to poker, contains twenty cards, with four each of five suits...

A small Japanese earthenware vase beautifully decorated with fruit basket and flowering branches in thick enamels and gold. Unsigned. Condition: tiny enamel loss (basket). Dimension: c. 14.3 cm high.

A large wooden lidded box of rectangular shape, made in Qajar Persia. The surfaces overlaid with micro-mosaic in colored wood, bone and metal, forming different stellar motifs. All with a lacquer finishing, shining golden. The interior with a folding mirror and roughly painted with flowers. The drawer is partitioned, the metal fittings made of sheet metal...

A pair antique reticulated Chinese silver incense stick holders. Decorated with dragons among clouds chasing the pearl, fixed on Chinese pierced wooden stands. No maker's mark, silver tested. Condition: some traces of usage. Dimension: total c. 11.9 cm high, diameter base: 8.6 cm.

Antique Chinese silver fish set for 12 persons, with twelve forks and twelve knives. All handles with decoration of small Chinese figures among pagodas and a shield-shaped cartouche with monogram "S", the silver tines and blades engraved. Unmarked. Condition: traces of usage, tines partially little distorted, tips of seven blades chipped. Dimension: fork: length: c. 18.2 cm, knife: length: c. 21 cm. Total weight: 1110 g.

Nine small brass weights originating from the African Gold Coast. The top decorated with different geometric ornaments as spirals, waves, swastika - one in the shape of a pyramid. Used for weighing gold dust which for centuries was the currency of the region. Condition: fine. Dimension: pyramid: 2.7 cm x 2.8 cm x 2 cm.

An assemblage of a figural Baluchari silk sari end panel fragment, showing five European men riding on double-deck railway coach, dating around 1800. Edged with a Kashmiri wool shawl fragment and edged with linen or cotton. Once framed and possibly sold as souvenir. Mounted on cardboard. Condition: faded, a stain. Dimension total: 30.8 x 25.5 cm.
