An expressive small figure of the long-haired Gama Sennin dressed in a leaf apron, standing on a plinth, with a small toad. Carved from boxwood, the eyes of the immortal are inset in glass. Unsigned. Condition: back with a large and few smaller age cracks (top of the head, arm sleeve), few tiny rim chips. Dimension: c. 15.5 cm high.

A pair Chinese silver spill vases made for the Western export or used in the Chinese market as incense stick holders. Decorated with prunus twigs, standing on three splayed feet with original clear glass inserts. Base with maker's mark "WH90", standing for the Wang Hing Company, working in Shanghai and Hong Kong around 1900. Condition: fine, few traces of usage, one insert seems to be a bit too long. Dimension: c. 11.6 cm high, weight of silver: 90 g.

A fine pair of Kashmir lidded jars or vases. The copper base was first engraved with special tools to create the design in relief, the grooves were later filled with glass and then embellished with additional engraving and wonderful shiny gilding. This technique is called in India "meena" or "meenakari" and was first applied by the Mughal. Condition: fine, only one rim with a small dent and minor wear to gilding. Dimension: c. 18 cm high, diameter: c. 12.5 cm, total weight:

A small carved wooden stele from Nepal of a Buddhist or more likely Hindu deity, maybe Indra. Bejeweled god with a fan-shaped crown, seated on a lotus base in lalita-sana under a mandorla. Traces of vermilion. Condition: see photos, wear, and small losses. Dimension: total height: c. 17.3 cm, c. 10.3 cm wide, c. 5 cm deep.

A rectangular and exceptionally designed top horse saddle rug or seating mat made of wool in knotted pile. Centrally two flying birds, between them quite invisible Chinese characters, bordered by swastika pattern. Lined and edged with different blue fabrics. Condition: faded, few small areas with missing pile (moth damage). Dimension total: 77.5 cm x 62.5 cm.

A Japanese "arrow toss" game vase made of copper and decorated with polychrome enamels, the rims and wires are gilt. Showing antiques and auspicious symbols on a white ground, the base with "fuku" mark. The "arrow-toss" game originated from China and was at the beginning very popular with the aristocrats and survived as a pastime well into the Edo period. From an old Swiss private collection. Condition: few traces of usage, the mouth rim is inside a bit bent (see pict. 12)...

Four wonderfully executed oval Indian paintings of Mughal rulers in gouache and gold on paper. Framed behind glass in a gilt wooden frame, in France in the 19th century. The passe-partout with handwritten titles as: "Shah Ichan" (Jahan?), "Shah Alum" (Alam), "Azime Shah" and "Miran Shah". Reverses with the label of the framer. Condition: the frames with traces of usage and age and small losses, one frame damaged. Dimension: portraits: c. 9.5 x 7.5 cm, frames: 24 x 20 cm.

Indian demon chaser mask in bronze repousse from Karnataka in five parts: head, headband, ears and a tube within the head to permit the mounting on a pole. Backside with red paint. Please refer for a quite identical mask to: "Ritual Bronzes of Maharashtra and Karnataka" by Leo S. Figiel, M.D.: Fig. 7-65. Condition: traces of usage, back part of the head and headband with some dents. Dimension: 26.2 cm high.

A pair of silk applique roundels for a robe, lavishly embroidered in satin stitch, tiny Peking knot and couched gold wrapped thread. One showing two boys at play, the other one depicting the immortal He Xiangu with attendant in a boat amidst flowers and auspicious symbols. Condition: slightly stained, the one with the boys has traces of former humidity, especially from behind. Dimension: 23.5 cm diameter.

A large wooden Christian cross with beautiful lotus and vines decoration inlaid in engraved mother of pearl, originating from Macau, Vietnam or Southern China. Rearside with paper label. Crosses such as this example would have served in the teaching of the Bible in East Asia. Condition: partially chipped rims, center with restaured area (please see photo no. 7). Dimension: c. 60.5 cm x 32.5 cm x 1.9 cm.

Antique Chinese silver fish set for 12 persons, with twelve forks and twelve knives. All handles with decoration of small Chinese figures among pagodas and a shield-shaped cartouche with monogram "S", the silver tines and blades engraved. Unmarked. Condition: traces of usage, tines partially little distorted, tips of seven blades chipped. Dimension: fork: length: c. 18.2 cm, knife: length: c. 21 cm. Total weight: 1110 g.

Four unmounted vintage albumen photographs dating from the 1880's in Burma (British India). Three showing historical buildings in Mandalay and one with two Burmese boats. Condition: some fading, one print with a small tear, wavy. Dimension: approx.: 18 cm x 26 cm.

A small pair of Chinese biscuit porcelain vases with moulded decoration of the eight Chinese immortals amidst clouds, painted in the "famille noire" palette. Mouth and base without glaze. Condition: fine. Dimension: c. 13 cm high.

Two small Chinese fine paintings in ink and colors on silk. One depicting a female warrior, maybe Mulan, the other with a Chinese Beauty. Mounted in gold lacquered wood frames. Condition: fine. Dimension image: 17.2 cm x 8.6 cm, frame: 23 cm x 15.3 cm.

An amethyst snuff bottle in pebble shape, the outside carved in relief with birds among twigs. Moderately hollowed. The stopper en suite, in the form of a bird, spoon made of bone. Condition: few rough areas and tiny chips. Dimension: 7.2 cm high.

A pierced fragment of an antique Tibetan or Nepalese torana, worked in copper repousse with remains of gilding and colors. Showing a caparisoned elephant with a snow lion on his back, lifting a deity riding on the mythical beast "sharabha". Condition: wear to gilding, slightly warped. Dimension: 36.5 cm high x 15 cm widw x 2.5 cm deep.

Rectangular photo or picture frame decorated with Sadeli micro mosaic in bone, metal and different woods. Old glass. Condition: very few missing inlays, one clip lost. Dimension: 22.5 cm x 14.6 cm, image: 15.8 cm x 10.1 cm.

An antique heart-shaped midnight blue satin silk pouch finely embroidered on both sides with two stylized dragons around a "shou" character in Peking knot. Cotton lining, inner rim with paper residue. Condition: few loose threads and little traces of usage. Dimension: purse: 9 cm x 9 cm.
