An Iranian papier-mache box with polychrome and gold decoration under a lacquered varnish. The domed lid painted with a young couple embracing, the six sides with mihrab shaped cartouches, showing figures or flowers. Condition: particularly rims with little wear and laquer losses. Dimension: 9.6 cm long x 6.6 cm high.

A black netting fabric with stylized figural pattern worked in metal. Very popular around the 1920's. Provenance: old Swiss collection. Dimension: c. 58 x 197.5 cm, weight: 315 g. Condition: fine.

Two small rectangular pouches and an etui for a comb. Made of termeh wool fabric with boteh motif or floral stripes, partially embellished with velvet and gold braids. Two with monochrome silk or cotton lining, the comb's pouch lined with printed cotton "qalamkar", this one with a later snap closure. A Persian nargileh water pipe cup "qalian" in conical form, made of brass or copper, maybe with gilding. Engraved and embossed decoration of flowers and calligraphy. Condition: traces of usage, rims slightly dented, some discolored areas, (please look at the photos carefully). Dimension: diameter: 8.3 cm, height: 6.2 cm.

Octagonal shaped miniature qur'an container with hinged and slightly convex lid. Two sides with a metal loop for the attachment to the arm. The lid and the sides decorated with verses from the qur'an. Condition: good. Dimension: 4.9 cm x 4.9 cm, 1.4 cm high, weight: 26 g.

Composed of different cotton fabrics, made into a rectangular shaped woman’s prayer cloth indicating qibla, the direction of prayer. The basic fabrics are geometrically worked tapestry weaves, crocheted together. All sides with fringes, backed with a plain weaves. Condition: traces of usage, few thin areas, lining little stained. Dimension with fringes: 113 cm x 55 cm.

A repoussed Persian copper bowl of squatted round form. The etched and engraved decoration comprising calligraphy cartouches, a band with split palmettes and flower heads and figures at leisure. Condition: some traces of usage. Dimension: diameter: 13.5 cm, 7.4 cm high.

Two trouser cuff fragments of Persian women with different nakshe embroidery. The linen ground entirely embroidered in polychrome silks with diagonal bands of flowers. Backed and bordered with linen. Condition: faded, old mends. Dimension: 49 cm x 33.5 cm and 45 cm x 34.5 cm.

Bulbous copper body with floral decoration in polychrome enamels. Originating from Syria. Condition: base with a small repair, three areas with losses of the enamel. Dimension: 17.5 cm high, diameter: 21 cm, weight: 1060 g.

A Qajar sherbet spoon carved from light, varnished wood, made in two parts with a long rhomboid handle joined to the boat-shaped bowl-section by a slot. Dimension: 30.2 cm long x 5 cm wide.

The rectangular pouch made of different Persian silk fabrics with cotton lining and two buttons. The kohl etui worked of ruby velvet with raised embroidery in couched metal lamellae, the sides are sewn together. The crimson red ground worked in metal wrapped threads and polychrome silk, woven with a flower in lozenge shaped lattice. Composed of several pieces, two edges with Russian printed cotton fabric. A complete smoking pipe in the Turkish style with red clay pipe bowl, maybe made in Europe, with gilt metal mountings. Stamped. The wooden stem with velvet and metal mountings is ending in a yellow glass mouthpiece. Condition: traces of usage, wear to velvet and gilding, mouthpiece with a chip. Dimension: total length 23.8 cm.
