The origin of this antique velvet ikat is not obvious. Some authors describe it of Persian, others of Central Asian origin. Striped fabric lining. Cf. Bühler, Alfred : Ikat Batik Plangi, Basel 1972 : No. 123. Condition: splits, repairs, holes, wear, stitched together with one seam, faded. Dimension : 60 cm x 105 cm.

A square cover made of very delicate red silk with the design of small flowers, lancet-shaped leaves, "mir-i-boteh" pines and tendrils, entirely embroidered in polychrome silks and silver wrapped thread. Purple silk lining with loops. Condition: clean, fabric with losses and splits, partially with backed and restored areas. Dimension : 119 cm x 117 cm.

A full-length Lamaist costume made for the ritual Cham dance with flared sleeves weighted at the bottom. This dress is composed of antique Chinese silks, mainly of a dark blue brocade with design of scattered peonies. The stripes in yellow satin damask with woven dragon roundels and red silk damask with clouds and roundels containing brocaded Chinese longevity characters. The collar made of red silk satin with a brocaded shuangxi character and decorated with two different brocaded fragments...

Cream colored satin ground with design of a peacock and a small bird amidst flowers, elaborately embroidered in Peking knot, Pekinese and satin stitch. The opening couched with silver and gold paper wrapped thread forming a bat. With a blue and white edging. The woven drawstring with beads made of rose quartz. Purple silk lining. Bottom with a paper label. Condition: silk with patina, two small little stained area, few traces of usage. Dimension: 31 cm long, opening: 5.5 cm wide.

Beautiful carving in the Balinese Art Deco style made of heavy tropical wood. Bearded man traditionally dressed with kris on his back, holding and feeding his gamecock. Condition: filled crack going through one foot and base. Dimension: 52.7 cm high, weight: 3'045 g.

A large wooden lidded box of rectangular shape. The surfaces all finely inlaid with micro-mosaic of colored wood, brass and bone, forming stellar motifs. The cover with four Islamic inscriptions set in oblong cartouches inlaid in bone and reserved on a dark wood veneer. All with a lacquer finishing, shining golden. The interior with European fabric lining. The lock is working. Condition: one edge with missing part, few small losses to the rims and micro-mosaic, the marquetry with some gaps...

Burmese silver ceremonial or monk's begging bowl. The exterior is decorated in repousse with a wide band of five mythological scenes with one figure and an elephant between foliage. Apparently unmarked. Condition: fine. Dimension: 13.8 cm diameter, 9.8 cm high, weight: 352 g.

Embroidered in counted and different decorative stitches, some areas couched with gold wrapped thread and sequins. The bird is depicted in the naive Vietnamese style on a red background now faded to a paler shade. Rank insignia from Annam are very rare but closely linked to the Chinese system. Bordered and lined with pale blue silk. Condition: worn, faded, stained, loose threads, restorations. Dimension: 27 cm x 30 cm.

Small tea ceremony incense container in the shape of a recumbent Buddhist lion. Molded of brown stoneware, the exterior surface with ash glaze. Condition: fine. Dimension: approx. 6 cm long, weight: 68 g.

Large candlestick with bell-shaped foot, knobbed stems and round drip pans ending in a pricket. Decorated with scrolling lotus and a band of ruyi heads in polychrome cloisonne enamel against a turquoise ground. The gilt rims embellished with key pattern in champleve enamel. Made up of several parts. Condition: The upper parts a little bit loose, slightly warped, minor wear to gilding, one small area with tiny loss, one small area with cracks, both hardly visible...

Finely potted octagonal vase with tapering body and four loops applied to the high shoulder. White clay with a transparent glaze of beautiful pale blue tone, the partially unglazed base with some oxidation. Condition: missing cover, the neck with a chip and cracks. A leporello with Japanese original woodblock print triptychs, mainly designed by Utagawa Kuniyoshi (1797 - 1861), famous for his warrior prints. The album is containing six warrior triptychs by Kuniyoshi and two made by his pupils. The oban sized prints are separately mounted on gold splashed Japanese paper. 1. Made of red Tophane clay, all pieces with matching impressed decoration, highlighted in gold and silver paint. The bases with an impressed flower. All pieces marked with a round stamp in Persian writing. Condition: traces of usage, cup with a loss. Dimension: saucer: 8.1 cm diameter, cup: 5.6 cm diameter, weight: 182 g.

Chinese export porcelain jar with cover, made for the Thai market. Decorated with flowers and foliage in iron red, gold and blue, turquoise and yellow enamels. Vessel inside with some kiln dust. Condition: good, two tiny color flakes, wear to gilt. Dimension: 18.2 cm high, weight: 632 g.

Excellent woodcarving of a fasting Buddha depicted as an emaciated ascetic, revealing his thin chest and pronounced ribs. He is sitting in a casual pose on a mat, next to his slippers. The boxwood with beautiful patina. Condition: tiny losses, one side of the whiskers restored (could be done better). Dimension: 16.2 cm high, weight: 264 g.

Bronze figure with remains of red and dark lacquering, the kidney shaped base cast separately. The standing god of war in military uniform holding his long beard with one hand. Condition: One fingertip missing, cast with imperfections: see pictures. Dimension: 25.6 cm high, weight: 2317 g.

Nargileh or huqqa bowl made of Tophane clay in one piece. The bowl has a pearl rim and stamp mark decorations, some sections are embellished with gold and silver paint. Marked with a round stamp with Persian writing. Condition: several imperfections, pasted piece. Dimension: height: 7 cm, diameter: 6.2 cm, weight: 92 g.

A chaozhu made of pierced and enameled silver or silver plated metal filigree beads. 90 small beads with crane design between three large "Buddha's head" beads. Three strings each with 10 dark beads ending in a teardrop bead. The tape which hung down the back with an oblong plaque between a double gourd and a teardrop bead. Dimension: 112 cm long. Weight: 174 gram. Condition: traces of usage: several beads with enamel loss, perhaps some beads missing.
