These eight wayang kulit shadow puppets, called in Bali "ringgits", were bought from a dalang (shadow artist) in Bali around 1960 and had then already a certain age. In a wayang kulit performance, the puppet figures are mostly rear-projected on a linen screen. These puppets are made from rather thick pergament (cowhide) and painted in natural colors, many of them are inscribed with their name on the wooden sticks...

A pair "loro blonyo", statues for a Indonesian wedding ceremony, possibly from the area of Yogyakarta. Carved from wood, with finely painted attire and embellished with filigree jewellry and glass cabochons. A limited-edition color woodblock print by the Japanese Sosaku Hanga artist Kiyoshi Saito (1907-1997). Titled "Obakusan Uji (A)", dated "1960" and numbered "38/150" in pencil. Hand signed in black ink and with red seal. Paper with watermark "Kiyoshi Saito". Condition: very good impression and color, laid down at upper corners. Dimension: image: 38.6 cm x 52.6 cm, paper: 45.5 cm x 60.1 cm.

A small four-fold iron tsuitate, damascened in gold and silver, showing a scene with a minogame turtle and two figures in a landscape. The reverse engraved with a crane among the "three friends of winter". Condition: fine, only minimal wear to gilding, base with little glue residue. Dimension opened: c. 15 x 27.3 cm.

A beautiful Chinese stone carving in the shape of a tripod censer on a fitted pedestal, the exterior with high relief of lotus flowers and a pod. Carved from agate, a grey stone with some brownish and green inclusions. Condition: fine. Dimension: total height: c. 11.2 cm, diameter: c. 11 cm, weight: 1145 g.

An original painting on shikishi paper by Suda Kyochu (1908 - 1964), depicting a frog in a pond. Painted in ink and with natural pigments. Suda Kyochu was a pupil of Seison Maeda (1885 - 1977), one of the greatest contemporary Japanese painters and one of the founders of the Nihonga movement. Signed and with original folder. Condition: fine. Dimension: 17 cm x 24.2 cm.

A square cover or shawl made of shiny purple silk beautifully embroidered with birds, flowers, butterflies and tendrils. The long fringes multi-colored. With light blue silk lining. Condition: fine, lining with one hole. Dimension without fringes: 151 cm x 151 cm.

A Tibetan ewer beautifully worked in silver alloy, probably with later gilding. The compressed body with two cartouches showing the subject of "the four harmonious brothers" and a monk sitting under a tree among animals and treasures. The lid with a vajra-shaped knob and decorated with Buddhist symbols. Silver tested. Condition: few traces of usage, areas with little oxidation. Dimension: c. 15 cm long, 12.5 cm high, weight: 321 g.

A large original color woodblock print by the Japanese sosaku hanga artist Junichiro Sekino (1914-1988). Showing a pond with a temple or house in Japan at night. Lavishly printed with mica and using the woodblock grain to create the shimmering and rippling water in the pond. Titled, numbered 166/200, signed and dated "57" in English, as well signed and titled in Japanese within the margin in pencil...

A large boat-shaped dish with superbly pierced, repoussed and engraved decoration of lotus flower scrolls. Base with "800" silver and "HISAM" maker's mark. Provenance: Swiss-Dutch family living in Indonesia in the first half of the 20th C. Condition: few traces of usage. Dimension: 31 x 23.2 x 7.1 cm, weight: 383 g.

Small sweet container in the shape of a miniature kaioke, a box for the Japanese shell matching game. The outside engraved with flowers, the inside of the lid with a gilt kamon, maybe a sakura family crest, and an inscription. The base marked jungin (pure silver) and signed. Condition: the lid with a tiny dent. Dimension: 5 cm high, 5.5 cm long, weight: 90 g.

A pair of Chinese Pekinese dogs made of porcelain and glazed in the sancai palette. Condition: few tiny rim frits, one dog on the back with few small firing defects (please see photo No. 8). Dimension: c. 14 cm long x 9.5 cm high, weight: c. 480 and 580 g.

A beautiful small bronze bust of a young Southeast Asian girl wearing a high headdress, a makuta crown, often used in the classical court dances in Thailand, Burma, Laos or Cambodia. The back of the patinated bronze head with the two initials "V.N." standing for Vietnam, work attributed to the Vietnamese artist Nguyen Thanh Le (1919-2003).
