A rectangular box and tray with rounded corners, worked in hardwood, the rims and sides of the box covered in silver. The top of the box lid in high class cloisonné enamel showing flowers and reeds near a creek. Foot rim with two character mark "Ko Hayashi" and "jungin" (pure silver). Dating to the late Meiji period. Provenance: a gentleman's collection from Geneva - Switzerland. Condition: cloisonné panel with a short surface scratch, silver with few tiny bumps. Dimension: box: 10.3 cm x 13.9 cm x 4.9 cm, tray: 13.8 cm x 17.4 cm.
