A fine quality Qajar Iranian pen case with sliding tray painted with medaillons on gold-leaf decorated black ground under a lacquered varnish. The top showing centrally a portrait of a nobleman wearing a kolah beetween two beautiful women. Cartouches with flowers, landscapes and the rose with nightingale motif "gul-u-bulbul". Provenance: a gentleman's collection, Geneva - Switzerland. Condition: traces of usage, few small lacquer losses, little wear and cracking (please look at the photos carefully, they make part of the condition report). Dimension: c. 23.6 cm x 4.3 cm x 4.2 cm.
