Standing Jizo Bosatsu, a long-stemmed lotus bud held in both hands, sculpted in relief from a brick-hued sedimentary stone. Mid-Edo Period ca. 1725. Very minor old loss. Variegated lichen accumulation.

Height: 53.5 cm
Width: 26 cm
Depth: 17.5 cm

With overall softening of the lines and contours and good lichen accumulation, a highly atmospheric and desirable piece.
