Sho-Kannon Bosatsu seated upon a lotus-form dais, the left hand holding a long-stemmed lotus bud and the right forming the segan-in mudra symbolizing the fulfillment of the historical Buddha's vow to strive for the salvation of all sentient beings, figurally sculpted from a high-ferric-content sandstone. Mid-Edo Period ca. 1750. Old loss and lines of repair. Variegated lichen accumulation.
