Originally made for fruit circa 1860, today this antique Coin Silver folding knife might become a handy tool for another use. Small and lightweight, one side of the delicate silver engraved handle is monogrammed in script CGT, the other side awaits the initials of a new owner. One fairly sharp blade marked COIN and the other blade used for picking seeds or as a toothpick. The blade can be sharpened to hold an edge that can cut anything easily. A large highly decorative sterling silver figural-form bonbon spoon, circa 19th C, .950 silver, made in Yokahama Japan for the American market, comprising a full size geisha girl handle holding a parasol, the parasol is the bowl of the spoon. Beautifully executed face, kimono and obi, as well as parasol, this is a perfect example of Victorian cutlery at its finest. Marked on back STERLING. This magnificent handcrafted Art Nouveau figural brass letter opener is the nicest one I have seen, with intricate detailed "Spirit of Life" maiden wearing a flowing, draped gown, one arm resting on back of head, the other catching her windswept gown, standing on a base of sinewy bark surrounded by clover, circa 1890's, very heavy. Measurements: 10 in. high. Condition is near perfect.
