I recently saw online a brand-new rhinestone brooch almost identical to this, but priced at $185! Why not pay $100 LESS for a genuine piece of the past that's sure to keep gaining value?
There's a sweet delicacy about this brooch that makes me think it dates no later than circa 1930. The airy openwork pattern shows Edwardian influence and the stones have a warm quality that suggests old paste rather than rhinestones. It's of medium size, measuring 1 1/4" round, featuring smaller stones set like spokes and an outer wheel around the central crystal. All of these are bright and seem tight in their bezel settings. The safety-clasp is also in great shape.
Besides wearing this in the usual ways, it would look great on a ribbon as a choker necklace or headband -- or on a hat hat or purse -- or turning a scarf into a sash. The styling possibilities are just about endless.
