Need a gift to delight an Estee Lauder collector (or would that be you)? Here's a spectacular little compact by the legendary Estee. It has a domed shape accented by a vivid faux turquoise cabochon and a gilded surface that's granulated all over! The piece measures 1 1/2" in diameter, plus its pretty patterned clasp. Some solid perfume remains inside, where you can read the maker's logo in the lid.
This beauty shows a little age-appropriate surface wear to the metal, nothing major, and dates from either 1968 or 1973. (It was first made in the former year and reissued in the latter, according to Roselyn Gerson's book on Lauder perfume compacts.) Other compacts of this type that I've seen online are priced at $40 or more (plus shipping), so ours is a super deal, especially on sale now. It provenance is a Dallas area estate.
There's no charge for insured U.S. shipping, with an equivalent discount on international delivery, and gift-wrap is always free when desired. Please e-mail to confirm availability, order or request more photos. Thanks for looking!
