Supremely giftable even after more than a century, these gorgeous antique cufflinks from a Florida estate haven't been worn much, if at all. Their intricate pattern is as crisp as on the day they were made -- which we estimate as pre-World War I based on several key details of fabrication.
First, the stamping isn't typical. Only two reverses are marked "Belais 14k White Gold Front," whereas examples from Art Deco times are marked on all four backs. Too, each connector is attached in an oddly improvisational way, curving over the stamped text. That would never have happened later on. Also to be considered is the curvy Art Nouveau shape of the connectors and the quintessentially Edwardian neoclassical "garland style" of the cufflinks, themselves. A vining garland encircles the central floral motif on each cuff, and another is evoked by graceful demilunes of petal-like scrollwork around the outer edges. Each hexagonal face measures 5/8" in each direction.
These are certainly among the prettiest Belais cufflinks I've ever been privileged to offer, and quite a few examples have passed through our hands at GlitzQueen. Now that the fabulous Belais brothers have gained so many fans, it gets harder and harder to replenish our stock, but we do have several lovely choices for you at present. Search "Belais cufflinks" if you'd like to see them all.
