Early 1950's silver plate and enamel bowl, designed by Henning Koppel. This model was produced in more than one color and size and by more than one Danish silverware producer, the foremost being Georg Jensen. This bowl is marked (illegible)…dröste and Denmark. Diameter "4 ½ / 11.2 cm and height "2 ¼ / 6 cm. Condition: some wear to the silvered surface as expected (cf. pics).

Hammered silver sugar tongs from Martin Mayer in Mainz, Germany, c 1920-30. Martin Mayer’s firm, founded 1888, was a well-known manufacturer of silver cutlery and jewelry until it was confiscated by the Nazis in 1938. Peter Behrens, Hans Christiansen and Patriz Huber are known to have worked for Martin Mayer. Of these, Behrens - one of the founders of the Deutscher Werkbund – is the most likely to have designed these sugar nips. German silver standard mark (crown and 835) and makers mark MM...

Silver lipstick holder and cover. Stippled surface and an octagonal base that keeps the lipstick steadily upright. Made around 1940, hallmarked 830, with makers monogram for Hansen & Andersen, well-known Danish silversmiths. Ready for use; a new lipstick can be inserted and then maneuvered by turning the base. Length: "2/ 5 cm, weight 37 grams. Condition: fine

A mesh silver purse, c 1920-30, exquisitely worked, the brackets with roses and flower baskets. Marked Diana (design or model), German silver marks: 800, crown and moon. Width "6 ¼ / 16 cm, weight 274 grams. Condition: a very small repair near the left hinge (cf. last photo).

A silver spoon, the shape of traditional Russian type with a long handle and egg-shaped gilt bowl, the modernist pattern pointing towards the 1960’s. Russian (Soviet era) hallmark 875 with star and Cyrillic B plus another mark with the letters B and Yu. Weight 38 grams, length "6½/ 16,5 cm. Condition: a few scratch marks to the bowl.

Simple and beautiful silver beaker or small vase with flaring rim and a neat “pearl” border at the base. Made by Van Kempen, Begeer & Vos (1919-60), purveyors to the Dutch Court. Marks: KBV, Dutch silver marks for 835 and year mark for 1921. Height "3¼/ 8 cm. Condition: small dent 2 centimeters from the base (cf photo).

A sterling silver holder for a menu, the design somewhere between Art Déco and modernism. Superbly engraved monogram. Today, menu holders might be used also for a photo or a birthday card. From Touron, one of the most well-established Parisian silver manufacturer (from 1824). Stamped Kendall-Touron, French assay mark: boar’s head and maker’s mark L&R. Height "1/ 2,5 cm. Condition: fine.

Sterling silver jelly spoon by David Andersen, Norway, with additional import stamp to Sweden (three crowns and S), c 1960-70. Silver gilt, with enamel decoration in blue and black. Marked Sterling, weight 23 grams. Length "5¼/ 13 cm. Condition: minuscule nicks to the handle, as seen in photos.
