Porcelain pipe head, a gift for Eugene, the name in elegant lettering within a hand painted shield and flowers in red, blue and gilt. A beautiful pipe head, often made in Germany, was a much liked present for the 19th century gentleman. Length "5¼/ 13 cm. Condition: fine, apparently never used.

Cup and saucer presented by Mr von Quast to his friend Mr von Laffert in 1837. The archives of the German nobility tell us that the wife of Hermann von Quast was born Laffert, and so Mr von Laffert was probably the giver’s brother-in-law. The saucer with inscription: H. v. Quast seinem H. v. Laffert d. 13t Januar 1837. The archives also state that January 13 was Hermann von Laffert’s birthday. On the cup, surrounded by grape vines and flowers: Heiter sei Dein Leben (May your Life be Joyous)...

A German 1820's cabinet cup and saucer with burnished and matte gilt decoration of Karl Friedrich Schinkel’s new theater building in Berlin, inaugurated in 1821 and nowadays concert hall. A large and quite unusual German cup and saucer, transfer-printed in puce with grapes and vines. The model as such, ribbed and profiled, is typical of German porcelain of this period and is often seen with some gilt decoration, but very seldom transfer-printed. Meissen blue and white cup and saucer. Decoration in the “Blue Fluted” pattern originally designed by Meissen c 1740, later to be used by other manufacturers, esp. Danish Royal Copenhagen. The slim handle, ribbed inside, shape of the sword marks and the mark 44 altogether suggest a date between 1818 and 1860 (cf. Graesse on Meissen, 110). Height of cup "2 ½/5,8 cm and diameter of saucer "5 ¼/14 cm. Condition: fine.
