Three dishes or small plates in orange, black and gold, depicting the Austrian coat of arms as it is seen on the Maria Theresienthaler coins. Made as replacements for broken parts of the service originally ordered from China for Jozef Anthon Johan of Austria and dated 1820, just after the Arch Duke had entered his third marriage. Pair of oval silver salts, clean and simple design with straight sides and a classical border of stylized leaves (kymation) around the rim. Early 20th century, with Swedish import hall marks and possibly by Bernhard Hertz whose company was based in Copenhagen and Stockholm. Length "2/ 5,5 cm. No liners. Condition: fine.

A pair of plates by Samson of Paris. Decoration in Famille rose colours of sprigs of flowers within a gilt Rococo border, imitating mid-18th Chinese export porcelain of the Qianlong period. Unmarked. Diameter "9½/ 23,8 cm. Condition: fine.

Bakelite belt buckle. black and ivory colored, late Art Nouveau or Jugendstil design, c 1920. Not signed, possibly French. Height "2 ¼ / 6 and width "3 ¾ / 9.5 cm. Condition: fine.

Two rattan handled and lidded water jugs in late Jugendstil, two of a kind. One designed by Richard Riemerschmied for the company of F & R Fischer c 1915, the other and smaller by Webster & Son, New York c 1920. The German jug hammered (pressed) and nickeled brass, the American jug silvered copper. Riemerschmid was co-founder of the Deutscher Werkbund, the ideas of which were close to the Wiener Werkstätte...

Brown banko ware teapot, Japan, late Meiji / early Showa. Unglazed, with the exception of the rim and the top of the handle hooks, some gilt to the molded decoration of a dragon and a lion dog. All handmade, with thumb marks to base and rim of lid. Height including lid "4 ½ / 11.5 cm. Condition: no bamboo handle, otherwise fine.

Baluster vase with Flambé glaze in red, green and black, where the lighter parts are crackeled and the black is close to mirror black. San-Yang Kai-Tai or transmutation glazed, representing the change of seasons, from winter into spring. China, early 20th century, Republic period. The vase was purchased in Brussels in the 90's from an old Chinese couple who brought it to Europe when they left China in their youth. Height "7 ¼ / 18.5 cm...

A pair of blue glass vases, Pearline from Davidson’s in Gateshead, England. Pearline, an opalizing pressed glass launched by Davidson’s, was very much en vogue c 1890 – 1910. Height "4/ 10.2 cm. Condition: fin (please observe that what might look like cracks to the base in the photos are mould traces).

An amber colored vase with an etched and gilt “Oroplastic” frieze of Amazon warriors, the base facet cut. The Oroplastic decoration method was introduced by the Moser glass company around 1915. It became a great success, totally in line with the emerging Art Deco style. Signed Made in Czechoslovakia Moser Karlsbad. Height "3 ¾ / 9.5 cm. Condition: fine.

Five watchful dogs – setters, dachshunds and a collie – cast in brass on an Art Nouveau pen tray. Around 1910, unmarked, probably English. Length "7 1/3 / 18.7 cm. Condition: natural wear, consistent with use, the underside still with original gilding.

Large lustre-glazed faience or majolica dish by Alfredo Santarelli in Gualdo Tadino, Deruta, Italy. Santarelli (1874-1957) took his inspiration from near-by Urbino, the birth-place of the most exquisite 16th century Renaissance maiolica. Mixing this with Hispano-Moresque lustre glaze effects he created his highly decorative Neo-Renaissance / Istoriato pieces. Early monogrammed AS signature, c 1910. Diameter "12 ¼ / 31.5 cm, height "1 3/4 / 4.5 cm. Condition: fine

Opaline glass bowl in the Brocade pattern, from the John Walsh Walsh glassworks. The opalizing effect was obtained by adding cobalt oxide to the glass, and a complicated procedure of heating and cooling. The opaline patterns made by John Walsh Walsh were produced as early as the turn of the century 1900. Height "3 ¼ / 8 cm, diameter "4 ¾ / 12 cm. Condition: fine.

Jugendstil pewter dish of trefoil shape, the wedges between the leaves filled with softly modelled violets. The base with three minimal ball feet for the balance. German, c 1900, marked Rein Zinn 95 % (Pure Pewter 95 %) under a crown. Width "6 ¾ / 17.5 cm. Condition: fine, keeping its original oxidized decoration and patina, never polished.

English Edwardian cake knife, the blade engraved with a bird among flowers, the handle faux ivory resin. Marks för Atkin brothers in Sheffield and year mark for 1910. Length "9 ½ / 24 cm. Condition: a hairline and some yellowing to the handle.

Six dessert or salad bowls of square shape, pinched. Iridescent and all with a swirl except for one which is more iridescent than the rest. Early 20th century, Art Nouveau and probably Czech, by Loetz. Polished pontils. Height appr. "2 / 5 cm, width (diagonally) "5 / 12.5 cm. Condition: fine.

Art Nouveau or Jugendstil silver plated and footed pewter bowl by Kayser, Germany, c 1910. The design is a wreath of cherries, divided into three compartments. Early stamped mark Kayser. The Kayser or Kayserzinn factory in Krefeld produced pewter items of high artistic value in the decades around 1900. Diameter "6¾/ 17,5 cm and height "2/ 5 cm. Condition: fine.

A pair of small white-glazed Nymphenburg candlesticks or candle holders with octagonal base, modelled on a Nymphenburg design from as early as 1790. Impressed shield mark and green stamped mark, c 1900. Height "3 ¼/ 8 cm. Condition: fine.

Chinese box padlock with key, made of brass, probably c 1900. Finely engraved with a bird and a dragon, a bridge and a cottage. Length "1 ¾ / 4.3 cm. Condition: fine.
