In the 1920s an archaeological find was made near an old farm in southern Sweden, a bronze key from the 9th century, the Viking era. It depicts a phantasy animal in a ring where the ends - traditional Celtic or Viking monster heads - are holding the key blade. The key is sometimes called the Key to Heaven, though Valhalla would be more suitable since Scandinavia at the time was not yet Christian. This massive silver copy was made by W A Bolin in Stockholm in the 1960s...

Elegant silver filigree brooch, a Norwegian solje. Less exuberant in style than most filigree solje brooches, without any enamel or gilt - just two shimmering roundels and the traditional chains holding the little pendant ornaments. Silver standard mark 830S and the pin hook with the three crowns of the Swedish hallmark – the brooch was made around 1900 when Sweden and Norway were united (the union was dissolved in 1905). Width "1 ½ / 3.7 and height "2/ 5.3 cm. Condition: fine.

Modernist globular silver earrings by renown Finnish designer Liisa Vitali whose characteristics are pierced, cut-out shapes. The Leppäkerttu / Ladybug collection appeared around 1970. Together with the Pitsi / Lace series it belongs to Vitali’s most popular designs. Swedish import marks (three crowns in an oval and S) and 925. Diameter of the little globes: "3/5/ 1.5 cm. Condition: fine.

Softly folded modernist silver ring from Hans Hansen, Denmark, c 1960s. Makers mark HaH and 925 S. Inner diameter "3/4 / 19 mm. Condition: fine.

Brutalist bracelet made up by five large cast, sawed and oxidized sterling silver links. From Finnfeelings, the firm of Sten & Laine, Turku, Finland. Marks: the dented small mark of Finnfeelings, 925, A (city mark for Abo /Turku), year mark U7 = 1973, Finland and Swedish importation mark. Length when clasped "7 ¾ / 20 cm, width "1 1/3 / 3.4 cm, weight 52 grams. Falls smoothly around the wrist. Condition: fine.

Pair of sterling silver modernist cufflinks by Hans Hansen, Copenhagen: two concave and cylindrical roundels of tapering form. Double H mark, 925 S and Denmark. Upper surface diameter "2/3 / 1.6 cm. Condition: fine.

Silver brooch or pin, Skonvirke style with a carnelian cabochon, A mock medal design, to be fastened to a ribbon and sewn on to your dress or jacket. Made by Bernhard Hertz, well-known jewelry designer working in Copenhagen and in Stockholm at the turn of the century 1900. Early Danish silver standard mark 826, early Bernhard Hertz dragonfly mark, B H and S. Height "2/ 5 cm. Condition: fine.

Scandinavian modernism: silver ring with a cabochon rose quartz by Niels Erik From, Denmark, c 1960. Signed From and 925 S. Inner diameter "2/3 / 16 mm. Condition: fine.

Silver pendant and chain by Karl Laine, Finnfeelings, one of his Spider Web designs from around 1970. Mark for Finnfeelings, 925H, A for the town of Åbo / Turku, T7 for 1972 and Swedish import mark (three crowns and S). Diameter "1 2/5 / 3.3 cm, length of chain "24 ½ / 62 cm. Condition: fine.

Scandinavian vintage earrings, clips, by Bent Knudsen, 1960’s. Of shallow form, with rounded sides. Marks: Bent K, Denmark, Sterling and 22 (model or design number). Width "½/ 17 mm. Condition: fine.

Interesting silver ring with a big red cabochon agate and some gold, made by Danish silversmith Ole W Jacobsen (workshop 1952 – 2002). The ring is hand hammered all around, the gold probably not under 14 K. An old “scar” to the stone, made by nature herself, has been left untouched to let the setting follow its shape. Signed OWJ and 925 S. Inner diameter "3/4 /15 mm. Condition: fine.

Impressive Jugendstil silver brooch with a cabochon cut garnet. Danish, c 1900- 1905, designed just before the Skonvirke period. Marked C.S. for C. Sorensen in Copenhagen (1893-1937) and 830 for the silver content. Width "1 ¾ / 4.8 cm. Condition: fine.

Cufflinks with Viking ornaments of Celtic knots, copied from a detail of the famous archaeological Norwegian Oseberg finding, a 9th century Viking ship now exhibited in Oslo. Museum copy model by David Andersen, the back inscribed “Osebergfunnet Kopi Ca 850 e Kr” and D-A Sterling Norway 925 S. Width of motif "¾ / 2 cm, height "½ / 1.3 cm. Condition: fine.

A sterling silver “Sirene” ring, an early 70’s design by Björn Weckström, Lapponia. Sterling silver, partly gilt (the cavity is gilt, difficult to photograph). Stamped 925 twice (European and Finnish stamp), the small Lapponia mark, H8 for 1985 and Lapponia. Inner diameter "½ / 17 mm. Condition: fine.

Sterling silver pendant with a large rock crystal, by Finnish designer Salovaara. Designer’s mark for Salovaara: an ice bear, 925, A for the city of Abo (Finnish: Turku) where Salovaara had his workshop and U7 = year mark for 1972. The back of the loop with the mark for import to Sweden (three crowns in an oval an S). To the underside there is an engraved date, probably for the time of presentation to a former owner...

Dragon brooch in the Viking style, the fable animal copied from the superbly elegant 12th century wood carvings on the portal of Urnes stave church in Norway, now on the Unesco World Heritage list. Sterling silver with marks 925, NM under crown for the National Museum and Copy. Height including the small (and movable) handle "2/ 5.3 cm. Condition: fine.

A large silver filigree star-shaped pin, 1960s. Marked Sterling Norway and makers mark LJH for Leif J Hansen who worked in the town of Bergen, Norway 1948-77. Diameter "2/ 4.8 cm. Condition: fine.

A pair of geometric modernist sterling silver bangles, by Danish silversmith Helge Arthur Bang. Bang worked only for a short period (1962-73) and his works are rare. Makers’ mark HE BA, Sterling 925 S and Swedish import marks (three crowns and S), weight 17 grams. Inner diameter "2 ½/ 6,5 cm. Condition: fine.
