Ivo De Santis, Gli Etruschi, 1960s, Italy: Royal Guardsman. De Santis’s massive, chubby and humorous clay figurines were unmarked, but they are nevertheless easy to recognize. Gli Etruschi was the name of his studio in Florence. Most part of De Santis’s production seems to have been exported to the US. The little soldier, however, was found in Sweden. Height "6 / 15 cm. Condition: fine.

Silver brooch or pin, Skonvirke style with a carnelian cabochon, A mock medal design, to be fastened to a ribbon and sewn on to your dress or jacket. Made by Bernhard Hertz, well-known jewelry designer working in Copenhagen and in Stockholm at the turn of the century 1900. Early Danish silver standard mark 826, early Bernhard Hertz dragonfly mark, B H and S. Height "2/ 5 cm. Condition: fine.

Chinese seal paste box showing New Year’s celebrations in the time of emperor Tongzhi, c 1870. The lid with an elderly official or teacher, his traditional hat in hand, surrounded by his pupils, the sides of lid and box showing two rows of small boys carrying signboards, red lanterns and the dragon on long sticks. The decorations of box and lid are made to fit perfectly together. Diameter "3 ¾ / 9.5 and height "2 ¼/ 6 cm. Condition: the base with a hairline (cf. pics).

Kutani yaki cricket cage of square shape, finely painted in aka-e, over-glaze red in the Iidaya detailed style: two sides with calligraphy, probably poems, signed in red and gilt, the other two with poets /scholars. The iron red decoration is called Iidaya and was made around 1860, during the Edo period. No lid, width "2 ½/ 6.5 cm, height "2 ½ / 5.5 cm. Condition: chips to two of the four feet, still stands steadily.

Nice pair of plates or dishes from Gien, France. The assiettes parlantes / talking plates communicate proverbs and jokes by way of rebuses, the solution given on the back. Plate A: IL FAUT SEMER POUR RECOLTER / You have to sow before you can harvest. Part of a Chinese condiment set: four triangular dishes with garden scenes in Famille Rose enamels. Late 19th century, Tongzhi to Guangxu. Width "6/ 15.5 cm. Condition: fine.

A pretty Minton dessert plate in the Argyle shape with a pink ribbon and bow enamelled decoration. Impressed year mark for 1866, the rhombic registration mark for 1842-1883 and M2035 for the pattern. Diameter "8 ¾ /22.5 cm. Condition: some wear to the gilt border (cf. pics.)

Cufflinks with Viking ornaments of Celtic knots, copied from a detail of the famous archaeological Norwegian Oseberg finding, a 9th century Viking ship now exhibited in Oslo. Museum copy model by David Andersen, the back inscribed “Osebergfunnet Kopi Ca 850 e Kr” and D-A Sterling Norway 925 S. Width of motif "¾ / 2 cm, height "½ / 1.3 cm. Condition: fine.

A very pretty ladies pocket watch, made in Switzerland, antique. The face is heart shaped, decorated in silver and gilt, the case all over finely engraved with floral ornaments. On the back are traces of enamel. The movement marked SWISSMADE. Case and cuvette both numbered 32086 over 5 and stamped 925, with London import marks for 1908, the cuvette also GS, initials that are part of the assay mark. Diameter "1¼/ 3,3 cm. Condition: at present it does not run.

Unusual small Faux bois tea or wine cup, Yongzheng period, reddish brown with peony and antiquities in Famille rose enamels and gilt, a collection number in red to the base. In the Yongzheng and early Qianlong period the chief manager in Jing De Zhen - the center of Chinese porcelain production - was the creative Tang Ying who made the imitation of various materials like wood, bamboo and stone on porcelain en vogue. Faceted crystal salt, enameled with water lilies in yellow and black, around 1920 and most likely by Marcel Goupy (1886-1954), the base signed Delvaux 18 Rue Royale Paris. Delvaux was a prestigious department store and retailer of glass and porcelain in Paris of the Art Nouveau and Déco era, employing many of the most distinguished designers of the period. Width "2/ 5.4 and height "1/ 2.8 cm. Condition: fine.

Japanese cufflinks, etched and gilt copper, c 1930’s. Decoration in Komai style of pagodas in a seascape, Mt Fujii in the background, the back buttons with minimal flowers. Height "½ / 18 mm. Condition: fine.
