Opaline glass bowl in the Brocade pattern, from the John Walsh Walsh glassworks. The opalizing effect was obtained by adding cobalt oxide to the glass, and a complicated procedure of heating and cooling. The opaline patterns made by John Walsh Walsh were produced as early as the turn of the century 1900. Height "3 ¼ / 8 cm, diameter "4 ¾ / 12 cm. Condition: fine.

A miniature vase of baluster shape with enameled decoration of a garden rock, flowers and diaper border in Famille rose colours. China, Qianlong period, late 18th century, shop mark to base. Height "3¼ / 8 cm. Condition: enamel loss and a chip each to mouth and foot rim (cf. pics).

A small jar, decorated with a garden rock and Peony in Famille rose enamels. China, Qianlong period, mid18th century. Height of the jar without its carved and later wooden cover (cf. last picture) is "3½ / 9 cm. Condition: some wear to the enamels.

Bowl with enameled decoration in Doucai colours of bats and double Xi marks (symbolizing the happiness of marriage). Articulating lines in under-glaze blue, the centre with a pomegranate. Early 19th century, Jiaqing. Shop mark in under-glaze blue to the base. Diameter "4¾ / 12,2 cm, height "2/ 5,2 cm. Condition: fine.

Bowl with enameled decoration of bats and double Xi marks (symbolizing the happiness of marriage) in Doucai colours. Articulating lines in under-glaze blue, the centre with a peach. Shop mark in under-glaze blue to the base. Jiaqing, early 19th century. Diameter "2¾ / 7,2 cm, height "2/ 4,8 cm. Condition: a small glaze flake to the mouth rim.

Tea or wine bowl with butterflies and double Xi (symbolizing the double happiness of marriage) in Doucai colours. Brown-glazed rim. China, first part of the 19th century. Diameter "3/ 7,5 cm, height "1¼ / 3,5 cm. Condition: fine.

A pair of dishes, printed and hand painted with flowers in pastel shades, the edges scalloped and gilt. Doulton Burslem mark for 1885-1902. Diameter "8¾/ 22,5 cm (both plates). Condition: fine.

A pair of English Staffordshire ”Imari” plates, the decoration painted in under-glaze blue and enameled, the rims lustre-glazed. The backs with a printed mark Ironstone China. Early Victorian, c 1830-40. Mason’s was the first manufacturer to launch Ironstone ware but many others were to follow. Diameter "9¾ / 24,5 cm. Condition: some crackling to the glaze to one plate, and a small chip to the underside of the rim (cf. pics).

An English sauce tureen and ladle, transfer printed in the Morning Glory pattern. Victorian, Staffordshire c 1880. Impressed mark T.C. Brown Westhead Moore & Co and pattern number H5156. Width "8½/ 21 cm, length of ladle "7/ 18 cm. Condition: fine. Price: $170, including worldwide SH & I

A carved ivory container, cylindrical and lidded, with dragons chasing the flaming pearl. Chinese, late Qing, c 1900. Height including lid "3¾/ 9,8 cm. Condition: the lid lacks its knop and the foot rim border a tip.

A tea bowl or maybe, rather, a wine bowl. The front with the combined crest of two families from the rural nobility, one is symbolized by a harrow, the other by a bunch of grapes. The back with the intertwined initials of the families joined together in marriage, surrounded by vines and grapes. China, mid or late 18th century. Diameter "3¼/ 8 cm, height "1¾/ 4,5 cm. Condition: a very small glaze flake to the mouth rim.

A pair of vanity lidded jars, French opaline, c 1850-70, with enameled decoration of roses and other flowers. Jars and lids numbered to make sure they fit (as is often seen on other glass trinkets of the period, such as scents and stoppers). Height "1 ¾/ 4,4 – 4,6 cm. Condition: fine

A silvered and beautifully engraved brass Hookah / Huqqa base. Indian, Moghal period, 18th century. Height "5¼/ 13 cm, diameter"5¾/ 14,7 cm. Condition: wear to the silver and loss of soldering around the foot rim (cf. pics).

Classical urn vase by Herend. The porcelain factory in Herend, Hungary, was founded in the 1820's and is still working. The urn is the raspberry red version of their Chinese Bouquet pattern, the mark indicates a date before 1980. No lid. Height "8¾/ 22,5 cm. Condition: fine.

Chinese bowl, to one side Famille rose decoration of Peony in Famille rose colours (the flowers in gilt) in the “boneless” style of Yongzheng and to the other a buddhist emblem. Probably late 19th century, the base with an iron red seal mark, difficult to decipher. Diameter "4/ 10,5 cm, height "2/ 5 cm. Condition: a 1 mm glaze flake to the rim, otherwise fine.

A saucer bowl, meticulously painted with a seascape and pavilions, the border with diaper, cod roe and peony motifs. The rim brown-glazed, Qianlong, late 18th century. Diameter "6/ 15,5 cm. Condition: fine.

Saucer bowl with under-glaze blue decoration of a bird on a flowering twig, silky chocolate-coloured glaze to the outside. Yongzheng or early Qianlong period, first part of the 18th century. Diameter "5¼/ 13 cm. Condition: glaze bubble and a hairline (cf. pics).

Flapper necklace, a sautoir (Fr. sauter = to throw) made up of black seed beads and an 18 carat gold tube with Swedish hallmarks and year mark for 1925. Length "67/ 170 cm. Condition: one or two irregularities due to loss of beads. Enough black beads of the same size and nuance will be included to make the necklace look perfect and as new again.
