A pair of creamware pierced plates, thinly potted and with ribbed recess and hand pierced border. Possibly from the factory of James & Charles Whitehead. In the pattern book published 1798 by the Whitehead brothers, two versions of this pattern are depicted side by side: one with a beaded edge, the other a ”plain” version like these two. Three faience plates, probably from the Les Islettes factory near Reims in Northern France, one with a rooster / coquerel and two with a flower basket motif. All with combed red border and 19th century. Diameter "9/ 23 cm. Condition: some rim frits, the coquerel plate with some filled-in patches to the red parts (cf. pics).

Three 19th century faience plates, Northern France (Saint Clement?), all with vivacious floral decoration in the "gaudy" style, all with combed red border. Diameter "9/ 23 cm. Condition: wear to the decoration of two plates, all with rim frits.

Four 19th century faience plates, probably from the Les Islettes factory near Reims in Northern France. Three with lobed and one with straight border. All decorated with sprigs of flowers in the "gaudy" style, one with a flower basket. Diameter "8 ¾ - 9 / 22 - 23 cm Condition: rim frits and wear to one plate, the flower basket plate with a charming attempt made in the factory to conceal a glaze mist at the border (cf pics).

A matched pair of baluster shaped vases, decorated in under glaze blue with seascapes, bridges and pagodas. Both with four-character Kangxi mark to the base, typical of the Kangxi revival period, the latter part of the 19th century. Height "5 1/3/ 13.5 and "5 ½/ 13.8 cm. Condition: nicks to the rim of one vase, the other with a brown-stained needle mark to the shoulder (cf. pics).

A carved and dark red lacquered serving tray, depicting Bog Arum (Calla Palustris) with its cinnabar red berries emerging from the elongated leaves. Made in Kamakura, the back with a stamped seal mark. Diameter "10 ¾/ 27.5 cm. Condition: some wear and scratch marks (cf. pics).

A miniature vase, decorated in underglaze blue with garlands of grapevines. China, Yongzheng to early Qianlong, 18th century. Interestingly, the same decoration has been found on many of the blue and white plates in the cargo of Swedish East Indiaman Götheborg which went down just outside the town with that name in 1745. Height "3 ¼ / 8.3 cm. Condition: an old restoration overpaint to the mouth rim has been removed to leave just the filling (cf. pics).

Baluster vase with Flambé glaze in red, green and black, where the lighter parts are crackeled and the black is close to mirror black. San-Yang Kai-Tai or transmutation glazed, representing the change of seasons, from winter into spring. China, early 20th century, Republic period. Crackle glaze baluster vase with decoration of flowers and scrolls in panels in the Imari palette: underglaze blue, iron red and gilt. The vase is heavy, with thick walls and a wide band around the foot. Japanese, Edo c 1720. Height "7 2/3 / 19.5cm. Condition: the mouth rim ground (the vase might have had a metal fitting) and there is a faintly yellow shade to part of the shoulder (no restoration).

A thinly potted eggshell porcelain cup and two saucers. Enameled decoration of scrolls, Phoenix birds and temples in soft pastel shades. Arita, Japan, Edo period. Marked Zoshuntei (= shop), Sanpo Zo (made), for the factory of Hisatomi Yojibei Masatsune (1842 – 1870). Hisatomi was one of the first potters in Japan to be allowed to put his factory name on pieces intended for export from Arita. Opaline glass and wooden framed box with geometric decoration in suprematist style, inspired by the De Stijl school and the porcelain created in Russia by Nikolai Suetin with its roots in the art of Kasimir Malevich. Late 1920’s, Dutch or Belgian, unmarked. Width including the wooden base "6 ¼ / 16 cm, height "2 1/2 / 6.3 cm. Condition: wear to the decoration (cf. pics).

Opaline or overlay peach-coloured and white satin glass perfume bottle, France around 1890. Floral decoration in enamels and raised gilt with applied clear glass swirls. Bottle and stopper marked 35. Height "8 1/3 / 21 cm. Condition: fine.

An urn-shaped perfume bottle, French around 1890. Blue opaline glass with satinized surface, floral decoration in enamels and raised gilt. Bottle and stopper marked 41. Height "9/ 23 cm. Condition: fine.

Six small dessert or fruit bowls in the Splendid collection by Bohemian Moser, Karlsbad, Exquisitely diamond-cut and faceted, the border with a relief pattern in 24 carat gold. Designed in 1911, Splendid turned out to be a success in the international expositions of the time. It is still being produced and is part of royal and stately dining settings all over the world. Diameter "5 ¼ / 13 cm, height "1/ 2.7 cm. This set is probably from around 1950. Condition: three bowls with wear to the gilt.

Eggshell thin cup and saucer of lobed and fluted shape, ivory matt glaze to the exterior, twig handle and raised gilt leaf decoration. French, unsigned, around 1890, the design with a touch of Japonisme. Height of cup "2/ 5.3 cm, diameter of saucer "4 / 10.2 cm. Condition: fine.

An amber colored vase with an etched and gilt “Oroplastic” frieze of Amazon warriors, the base facet cut. The Oroplastic decoration method was introduced by the Moser glass company around 1915. It became a great success, totally in line with the emerging Art Deco style. Signed Made in Czechoslovakia Moser Karlsbad. Height "3 ¾ / 9.5 cm. Condition: fine.

A small bird by Sabino, Paris. Marius Sabino was an Italian glass artist who moved to France in the 1920’s. Like Lalique, he worked with moulded and opalescent glass. Incised mark Sabino, Paris. Made for the French market around 1930 (later pieces intended for export were marked Sabino France). Length "2/ 5 cm. Condition: fine

Vermeil or silver gilt shoe buckle set with paste, the setting arranged as a ribbon with a stripe of green enamel. French, c 1770-80, no visible hallmarks, but traces of an old assay to ascertain the silver content. Length "3/ 7.3 cm. Condition: wear to the enamel and to the gilt of the prongs (cf. pics).
