What at first sight might look as a triangular vase is in fact a holder for the paper coffee filters invented in 1908 by Melitta Bentz and was produced by Goebel, Germany, c 1920. Jugendstil design of two birds supporting the holder, and dripping glaze in blue-green and puce. Unusual. The base with the Goebel crown mark for 1923 – 1949 and model number 754. Width "7/ 18 and height "5 ½/ 13.8 cm. Condition: fine.
