This is an outstanding Japanese cloisonne vase with a high level of workmanship. This elegant piece has a beautiful high gloss midnight blue ground. In the foreground are excellent and elegant Iris in different colors. Very Fine silver wire is use throughout in varying thickness. Enameling and shading is great with hues and tones of purple and white on the Iris including yellow centers. Leaves in varying green tones. The side have Iris buds and leaves on each side as well as the back. Lappet style scroll at the base and under the top rim. It is signed but the mark is not known to us. It looks more like a variation of Miwa or Hayashi. Condition is good but there is a shallow flake to the back side enamel that is not easily seen. The vase measures 7 1/4" tall.
