Victorian Essex crystal ring in 14K gold, featuring a bird perched on a branch. Essex, or reverse intaglio crystal, features a cabochon crystal carved and painted on the back to create a three dimensional effect, and commonly backed with mother-of-pearl. Essex is actually a misnomer – these jewels were mistakenly attributed to the English portrait painter, William Essex. This charming ring is in good condition: crystal is a bit cloudy and there are losses to paint, especially on the branch. ...
These are the best Victorian bracelets ever! Pair of 14k gold woven bracelets with adorable squirrels on the clasps. Each squirrels is sitting on a branch eating an acorn; the scenes are worked in green, pink and yellow gold. Classic Victorian naturalist theme. Excellent condition; one small finial on one clasp is missing. Bracelets measure 7”.
Beautiful enamel and diamond Victorian mourning ring, in 18k gold. The ring comprises a gold star set with a diamond surrounded by black enamel. The band features “In Memory of” in gold lettering on black enamel. There is a locket with hair on the reverse, along with an inscription: “John Co. Obt 27 Apr 1865 ae 80”. Hallmarked for London 1863-64; maker’s mark “W.C”. Ring size 5 3/4.
