It is signed along the right edge “Mte. Jaser”. Jaser (her mar...

This is a spectacular and rare piece: a rare theorem purse from the early 19th century. Theorem painting was popular among the women of the time, using a series of stencils to paint a design – usually floral -- on white velvet. This purse has it all, from its unusual boat shape to its vibrant colored flowers to its neat green silk ribbon bows. Very good condition; white velvet has yellowed and there are a few stains; ribbons are slightly worn. Measures 7 5/8” wide.

This Georgian mourning brooch has it all: it’s beautifully executed in hair and watercolor, and features a slew of wonderful symbols. The weeping willow denotes grief; the column with the urn on top symbolizes memory and the little dog loyalty to the deceased. This is one of the loveliest, most poignant Georgian memorials I’ve ever seen, commemorating the death of a child! An angel and a child rise through the sky, the angel pointing toward heaven. They rise heavenward in a blue sky with dark clouds – all elements are beautifully balanced. Wonderful condition; there’s a small spot of dir...

Beautiful highly faceted Stuart crystal heart pendant with the gold initials “JC” laid on a a bed of plaited hair, probably 18th century.
