Beautiful early Battersea enamel earrings, depicting cherubs conducting music with a baton. Each cherub is a little different; they’re in great condition. Probably converted to earrings at one time (there’s solder on the backs); may have originally been buttons. Rope twist border. Measure 1 1/4” from the top of the wire.

Very pretty mourning miniature, featuring a landscape in watercolor and hair, probably German or Swiss. The scene is a cemetery; a tomb -- with an anchor leaning against it – reads “Erinnerang” (in memory of). The trees and grass are delicately formed of hair. Very good condition. Gorgeous Victorian white lava cameo brooch, featuring a Bacchante, a priestess of Bacchus, the Roman god of wine, set in a gold frame. Pompeii was a popular destination for Victorian travelers, and many brought back lava souvenirs. This cameo is beautifully carved, with leaves and grapes twined into the Bacchante’s hair. Condition is excellent; some old repairs to reverse. Measures 1 1/2” high by 1 1/4” wide.

Pretty and unusual Martha Washington mesh reticule, circa the 1920’s. This purse was modeled on an embroidered reticule carried by Martha Washington during her husband’s first inauguration in 1789. This purse is in excellent condition; there are one or two chipped links, silk header and liner are in great shape. Drawstring rings show wear. Measures 9” by 3 1/2”, including fringe.

Rare Wedgwood and Bentley jasper cameo silver mounted ring, circa 1779, depicting a gentleman in profile. The oval pale blue medallion is layered with white between the black ground surface upon which the profile sits. The reverse is inscribed “Wedgwood x Bentley”, a mark used from 1769-1780, when Josiah Wedgwood partnered with Thomas Bentley to establish a factory named 'Etruria' for making ornamental wares. Wonderful Victorian gold Etruscan style set, featuring a brooch and earrings. Victorians had a mania for things Italian, and were keenly interested in the discovery of ancient jewels in Tuscany which incorporated applied beadwork and twisted wirework. The Victorians used those motifs in the jewelry of the second half on the 19th century. This elegant set is formed in that style. Very good condition. The brooch measures 2 5/16; the earrings are 1 1/4” from the top of the wire.

Sweet little 19th century mother of pearl shell-shaped box, filled with 12 gilt and cut steel flies and a few accompanying findings. It’s hard to know what the flies were intended for, but they are charming, and in new condition. Excellent condition over all. Box measures 2”; flies are 5/8”.
