Fantastic delicate and diminutive 19th century Victorian metal and silk thread knit purse with ornate gilt mount and gold beaded tassel. Excellent condition; one loose tassel loop. Measures 3 1/2” (not including tassel) by 2 1/8”.

A wonderful 1830's ladies' reticule with a little bit of everything! The purse is fashioned of cream satin and decorated with chain stitched floral embroidery, moss green and dusky pink velvet bands , gold metallic lace, spangles, and beads. The best part is a flip down bottom which hides a mirror within. Green silk lining. There is shattering to the cream silk, especially on the sides. 7” by 7”.

Unusual micro beaded rug design purse, in a tribal motif. The purse is worked in extremely fine beads, in colors of pink, yellow, green and purple. Multi-color loop twist fringe; salmon pink lining; gold tone frame. Very good condition; some losses to fringe and purse is pulling away from frame, but only a bead here and there is missing. Measures 8 1/8” including fringe.

Attractive antique beaded reticule, featuring a crystal field worked in a sinuous nouveau design of blue vines and flowers. A large letter “M” decorates one side. New white lining; interesting cinched loop fringe. Measures 8 3/8” by 6 3/4”.

Interesting antique crimson silk, sequined and metallic thread purse; I am told by a specialist that this is Indian for the Chinese market. Fish and flower motif; red drawstring wrapped in metallic thread. Several loose or unraveled threads. Measures 5 ½” by 4 1/8”

Antique Chinese cream silk purse with couched silver thread embroidery depicting a house, flowers, tress and frog. Pleated opening. Long tassels wrapped with metallic thread. Very good condition; some dirt to pleats under drawstring. Measures 3 5/8" high x 3 1/4".

Very pretty antique Chinese silk kidney shaped pouch or purse. Double sided: blue silk ground on one side, cream on the other, both with couched multi-colored metallic thread embroidery. Pleated opening. Woven silk drawstring, set with a glass bead on one side. Silk is dirty overall; blue silk ground is shredding at pleats and at opening; some loose threads. Measures 5 1/4” by 4”.

Antique Chinese silk kidney shaped pouch or purse. Black silk ground with couched gold and silver thread embroidery in a floral design. Pleated opening. Silk thread drawstring with tasseled woven terminals, each set with a coral-colored bead. Silk ground is shredding, especially at pleats and at opening. Measures 4 1/4” by 2 3/4”.

Antique Chinese silk archer’s ring holder or purse. Archer’s rings were originally worn on the thumb to protect the archer’s thumb as it pulled the bow string. They evolved into a symbol of high socially rank. This cylindrical blue silk ring holder is decorated with couched gold metallic thread depicting flowers and fruits. Pretty little 19th century micro beaded reticule, featuring a central floral wreath, with pink, blue and yellow blossoms. Sawtooth border at header, abstract border at the bottom, and looped fringe feature amber-colored beads. White silk lining. Good condition: two loops missing; lining is shredded at the top. Measures 5” by 4 1/8”.

This is a sweet little purse with an interesting provenance. It’s made of a lovely woven pink patterned silk and features a ruby and diamond clasp. Inside, there are two cartes de visite, which hint at its ownership. The first is a card inscribed “Madame Edouard de Heller/Princesse Clementine de Saxe Cobourg Gotha”.
